Pitso wants to 'give back in a meaningful way', set to launch soccer schools project in SA

Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane wants to "give back in a meaningful way" and will be launching a soccer schools project, the 56-year-old's management team MT Sports confirmed on Wednesday.

MT Sports revealed that the programme will be known as Pitso Mosimane Soccer Schools (PMSS) and "will have a holistic approach to growing a player both on and off the field".

The project will launch later in 2022.

"The Pitso Mosimane Soccer Schools are part of coach Pitso's legacy of not only creating the player of tomorrow but also ensuring that he contributes towards football in South Africa for it to go back to the level of excellence that we know it to be, and most importantly reaching new heights," says Moira Tlhagale, wife of Mosimane and managing director of MT Sports Marketing and Management.

"Throughout his career as a player and coach Pitso Mosimane has been a perpetual student of the game, ensuring he continuously amasses football knowledge."

Mosimane reached incredible heights with Mamelodi Sundowns and has the chance of adding to his legacy by completing a hat-trick of CAF Champions League titles at the end of the month with the Egyptian giants.

MT Sports general manager, Keletso Totlhanyo, added: "Key elements that form part of the PMSS programme is to ensure the employment of the right calibre of coaches; adherence to a specified development plan and ensuring the environment that the players are in is safe and encouraged to thrive."
