Pitch invader: Fan in Brazil bizarrely tries to show goalkeeper how to dive
The fourth-tier of Brazilian football played host to truly bizarre scenes this weekend as a fan invaded the pitch to try and give his side’s beleaguered goalkeeper a lesson in how to save the ball.
Santa Cruz shot-stopper Klever Rodrigo Gomes Rufino had already endured a tough 90 minutes as his team went down 2-1 at home to ASA, with the goalkeeper having a poor night at the office.
Most spectators would be content with letting their displeasure be known from the stands. However, one Santa Cruz supporter decided to go several steps further by actually sprinting on to the playing surface and directly confronting Klever.
Loudly cheered by his fellow Santa Cruz fans, the individual in question then proceeded to mock the unfortunate goalkeeper by diving to the ground at full stretch – as if to demonstrate how to stop the ball from hitting the back of the net.
Klever, for his part, seemed stunned at the surreal nature of what was unfolding in front of him. Rather than get into an argument with the fan, he simply watched on for a few moments while the man soaked in the approval of the crowd, before grabbing his water bottle and leaving.
Realising that his performance has gone down a storm with those in attendance, the pitch invader decides to throw himself to the ground on another two occasions after Klever has returned to the dressing room.
Incredibly, following his antics, the supporter appears to believe that he will be permitted to just walk back to his seat inside the stadium.
The first police officer on the scene actually seems on board with this, too, as he is seen having an animated discussion with the fan as they both walk in the direction of the stands.
