Pirates midfielder Bandile Shandu: 'We focusing on each and every game as it comes'

Orlando Pirates have had a solid start to the season, sitting 5th on the PSL log. However, they head into their next game against TS Galaxy on the back of a defeat against Maritzburg United, resulting in them being just two points ahead of Sead Ramovic's side.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Pirates midfielder Bandile Shandu has much respect for their next DStv Premiership opponents TS Galaxy and maintains caution.

"Every game is difficult and important. I think TS Galaxy is a very good team, but we just need to focus on ourselves and do what we need to do.

"As long as we pitch up and we play to the team's strategy, work together and fight together, I think we'll get the result."

Like Pirates, TS Galaxy themselves head into the game on the back of a defeat to Cape Town City. In spite of their defeat, Shandu praised their individual quality while remaining confident in Pirates ability to win the game.

"They're a very good team. Got individual qualities, but we focusing on ourselves as long as we do the right things and we do what we've been preparing, I think the result will take care of itself."

With Pirates on a 10-year-long league trophy drought, Pirates fans were concerned when they lost their previous game against Maritzburg United as that defeat dethroned them from the top of the log. However, with a long season still ahead, Shandu is not concerned and is wary of looking too far ahead.

"I think it's taking it one game at a time. You cannot look too far ahead even though you have to, but we cannot look and focus too far ahead. We just need to make sure that we win the games that we playing, the games that we playing this month, and the game that we playing this weekend, so I think that's our mindset right now.
