Pirates coach Jose Riveiro on preparation for Sundowns - 'There is nothing special to do'

Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro says that there is no special preparation in place for Mamelodi Sundowns as they get ready to face off in what is set to be a mouth-watering clash between the two teams on Saturday.

The Buccaneers have locked horns with the Brazilians on three occasions this season, eliminating them in the semi-final of the MTN8 Cup over two legs while suffering a 2-0 defeat in the league in December last year.

With this set to be their fourth meeting this season, Riveiro is expecting an open game against the run-away leaders and claims that they are not doing any special preparation despite their opponents being 14 matches unbeaten.

"There is nothing special to do, Riveiro told reporters.

"We play at home in our ground and we want to be the team who decides what type of game we want to see. I have nothing against goals, especially when it's my team scoring as much as possible.

"I think it's going to be an open game. I don't think it's going to be boring or with both teams not trying to concede goals, I don't think so. There is nothing special. It gets more relevance because both teams are big but the preparation of the game is not so different.

"We try to go into every detail that can give us a competitive advantage and we try to go to every detail that can give us the possibility to be solid and not concede goals like in our last game, but we play for three points."

The Buccaneers have hit a purple patch of late as they head into the match on a three-game winning run while netting nine goals in those matches, moving them up to fourth in the table.
