Pillars, Safety Babes maintain lead as Niger United, Kada Stars clash
League leaders, Kano Pillars and Safety Shooters, yesterday, increased their chances of winning the title by winning their match Day three game at the ongoing Prudent Energy Premier Handball League.
The competition is held at the Indoor Sports Hall of the University of Lagos, Akoka. While Kano Pillars walloped Benue Buffaloes 31 to 20 to maintain their lead in the men’s category, Safety Shooters dismissed Tojemarine Academy 31 to 28 to retain their second position. Owena Kings and Rima Strikers drew 21 to 21, just as Confluence Stars forced Niger United to a 19-19 draw. In the women category, Safety Babes also preserved their leadership on top of the table by beating Seasiders Babes 31 to 25, while Imo Grasshoppers walked over Kada Queens 10 to 0.
