PICS | Medals unveiled for this year's Commonwealth Games
Commonwealth Games organisers have revealed the medals which will be awarded to top three podium finishers when the multi-sport event kicks off on 28 July.
The event will run until 8 August in Birmingham, England.
Sporting codes including judo, rugby sevens, netball, squash and aquatics will be on display.
According to organisers, the medals are locally made, with the official Birmingham Commonwealth Games Twitter page noting they were "designed by local students and manufactured in the Jewellery Quarter."
The "medals are inspired by the roads and canals that link our city and region."
