Philippe Clement in frosty Rangers trophy response as boss wants to win EVERYTHING but tells reporter 'I'm no magician'
Philippe Clement has bullishly told Rangers fans he wants to win EVERYTHING at Ibrox - but admits he's no magician.
The Belgian was unveiled to the media on Tuesday as he begins his Ibrox tenure with a trip to face Hibernian at the weekend in the capital. Clement saw off competition to land the Ibrox hot-seat and has already nailed his colours to the mast putting the Light Blues scattered trophy haul at the top of his agenda. The 49-year-old won silverware at previous clubs Club Brugge and Monaco, but reiterated that he wants a full sweep of the gold in Glasgow.
He'll have a tough task dethroning Brendan Rodgers and Celtic but Clement believes he has the four pillars to make his squad the Scottish Premiership's best tacticians and the most mentally strong. He said when quizzed on ambitions: "I already told you I want to win everything. That's the mentality I have. I want to give this mentality towards the dressing room and create more winners.
"We will work really hard to win silverware as quickly as possible. I don't have a crystal ball and I'm not a magician, but I know if we can work with players for a long time, I know we can make them better.
"I've had very interesting talks with Graeme Souness and the board. How are we going to do it? Creating better athletes, football players, stronger mentalities. It's time, it's a very important thing.
"It can go really fast with the squad if they get more confidence and the fans get behind them. If you have 50,000 people behind you., you get stronger as a football player. So it's important to create that synergy. I hope the fans know how much power they have.
