Phil Taylor: When darts legend messed up break on pool debut
Phil Taylor is one of the greatest British sportsmen in history.
Taylor dominated the sport of darts for over two decades, winning 16 world titles.
He finally hung up his arrows in 2019, retiring after his defeat to Rob Cross in the World Championship final.
Taylor has been enjoying retirement for the past three years.
In that time, Taylor decided to have a go at another sport: Pool.
The legendary thrower took part in the the 2021 Ultimate Pool Masters alongside 64 of the world’s best players.
He was up against it when he drew Rob Chilton in the first round.
And it’s fair to say his Pool debut did not go quite to plan. Taylor was demolished 8-0 as he was outclassed by Chilton.
And he had a nightmare start to the eighth and final frame.
Taylor had the honour of starting the frame. However, he got his break completely wrong.
‘The Power’ barely hit the white ball and it didn’t even reach the balls at the other side of the table.
“Phil, you require some chalk.”
