Phil Hay delivers huge 12-word Leeds injury update regarding 'exceptional' Whites hero

Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford is ‘fine’ after coming off at half-time against Norwich City, according to reliable journalist Phil Hay.

The Whites picked up arguably their biggest victory of the season so far on Sunday afternoon, winning 2-1 at home to the Canaries in the Premier League in a clash of two relegation-battling teams.

Hay added that the 28-year-old should be good to feature in Friday night’s clash away to Wolves, with the Leeds management reluctant to push him too much yesterday.

After such an injury-plagued season, it is vital that Leeds don’t rush Bamford back too soon, risking another fitness issue at a vital period in the season.

The 28-year-old could play a massive part in the Whites’ survival battle in the coming weeks – he has been hailed as ‘exceptional’ by Jurgen Klopp in the past – and it was wise to only give him 45 minutes against Norwich, given how little game-time he has had in recent months.

It is also hugely positive that it was Gelhardt who had the moment to savour on Sunday, giving the youngster massive confidence as he looks to potentially dovetail with Bamford in attack moving forward.
