The Hotline wind-up merchants were out in force once again with Old Firm tit-for-tat aplenty.

There was even a caller who's created his own song for Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou.

Gordon Ashley, Ayr, said: "It’s so funny listening to Rangers fans clinging onto their Europa League semi-final comfort blanket on the Hotline. These are the same people who told us all that mattered this season was the league title and £40m prize money.

"The truth is that nobody cares about European semi-finalists and all three of Celtic's last 16 Champions League qualifications are bigger achievements."

Arrin Geddes, Irvine, said: "Caller John Bruce’s 'two out of 10' dig is laughable as Rangers come into form for a season and all of a sudden they are top dogs. How about one out of 16 major trophy wins since 2016/17?"

Robert McEwan, Mount Vernon, said: "You would think people who support their team would concentrate on them instead of coming on the Hotline and constantly going on about the soon to be champions Glasgow Celtic."

Andy Scott emailed: "A report on the BBC Sport website states Liverpool are on course for unprecedented quadruple. Celtic are named as one of a handful of sides to have done the European Cup, Domestic Cup and League treble.
