Peyton Manning bamboozling the Dallas Cowboys was an all-time epic play

Whilst not a trick play, Peyton Manning’s touchdown run against the Dallas Cowboys remains one of the greatest pieces of deception in NFL history. 

Peyton Manning is one of the best quarterbacks in the history of the National Football League. Whilst he was part of one of the greatest rivalries in league history with Tom Brady, the fact that Brady has won five more Super Bowls, more passing yards, touchdowns and a whole host of other records, it’s fair to say that history will always put him firmly in second place in that debate.

But that’s not to say he wasn’t impressive when it came to throwing the ball. With a grand total of 79,279 passing yards and 579 touchdowns across the regular and postseason, as well as winning a league record 5 NFL MVP awards, he does go down as one of the greatest not only of his generation, but of all time as well.

But with such a talent when it comes to throwing the ball, it’s easy to forget that he does have feet that he can use as well. And arguably his greatest use of those feet came in the 2013 season when his Denver Broncos took on the Dallas Cowboys.

In one of the greatest regular season games that we have seen in recent years, the Broncos and Cowboys put on a clinic in attacking football (although it was a day that both defences will probably want to forget) as they played out a 51-48 thriller in favour of Manning’s Broncos.

The game featured plenty of offense with the story of the day actually coming from the Cowboys as their quarterback Tony Romo managed to put up a career-best 506 yards and five touchdowns, only for a late interception to gift the game to the Broncos as they won it on a very late field goal:
