Person taken to hospital after crash on busy town road
One person has been taken to hospital following a crash in Risca. Emergency services attended the scene on Tredegar Street at around 6.26pm on Wednesday. The road was closed from the Dominos Junction to Crosskeys until around 8.20pm.
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesman confirmed one patient was taken to the Grange University Hospital in Cwmbran. Traffic built along the road while diversions were in place.
A spokesman for Gwent Police previously said: "Emergency services are dealing with a road traffic collision on Tredegar Street, Risca . The road is closed from the Dominos Junction to Crosskeys. Diversions are in place which may cause congestion. Please avoid the area and find alternative routes for your journey."
