Person hit by train and lines closed

A person was hit by a train on a valleys line. All lines between Penrhiwceiber and Aberdare were closed between 5pm and 7pm while emergency services carry out their work.

Trains scheduled to run between Pontypridd and Aberdare were cancelled or revised. A National Rail spokesman said: "A person has been hit by a train between Penrhiwceiber and Aberdare. Whilst the emergency services carry out their work, all lines are closed.

"Trains running between Pontypridd and Aberdare will be cancelled or revised until approximately 6.45pm.
