Pep Guardiola's blunt Manchester United point emphasises Man City task and Arsenal title truth

Pep Guardiola is not expecting any favours from Manchester United as the Premier League reaches its finale.

Manchester City are a point behind leaders Arsenal with a game in hand ahead of the last two weeks, and Mikel Arteta's side have to go to Old Trafford next Sunday, the day after the Blues are at Fulham. Erik Ten Hag's side have had a mixed campaign but caused Liverpool to drop four points this season and will still be fighting to secure Europa League football for next season when they host the Gunners.

Guardiola is not counting on United getting a result though, making clear that nothing less than a perfect end to City's final three games will do: " "Nine points, we will be champions," he said. "Seven, six, or three points [and] Arsenal will win the Premier League."

Despite the big win over Wolves on Saturday evening, Guardiola saw plenty that could be improved from their performance in the 5-1 victory. However, he was delighted to see Erling Haaland look back to his best after a difficult season that has been significantly disrupted by injury.

"He was injured, an important one," said Guardiola. "He's so tall. To come back to his best form, he needs time. It's not like Jeremy [Doku] for example or Phil[ Foden].

"Happy for his performance and his exceptional goals and the penalties as well because we know how sometimes they are not easy but the second and the fourth was unbelievable. Really pleased for him."
