Pep Guardiola press conference LIVE Stones and Bernardo latest in Man City vs RB Leipzig team news

Pep Guardiola will speak to the press on Tuesday afternoon ahead of Manchester City vs RB Leipzig.

City are in the rare position of having to stop the rot as they go into the Champions League encounter off the back of two defeats. Not many tears were shed after the defeat to Newcastle in the Carabao Cup but the 2-1 defeat to Wolves was concerning.

Guardiola will be boosted by the return of Rodri for the match. The midfielder will be suspended for the weekend trip to Arsenal but can play in European competition.

There's more good news for City, too, as John Stones and Bernardo Silva both returned to training on Tuesday morning but it's not clear if they will be fit enough to make the trip just yet. Guardiola will likely be asked about their fitness in his press conference. The manager will be joined by centre-back Ruben Dias.

Today's press conference was supposed to be held in Leipzig at 5:45pm but City are having to conduct their press conference remotely, in the UK, with the weather meaning they will have to fly later than expected and will not be able to conduct it in person in Germany.

Bernardo Silva and John Stones returned to Manchester City training to boost Pep Guardiola.

Silva has been missing since the Champions League win over Red Star Belgrade last month while Stones hasn’t started for the Blues since the Community Shield as part of a number of injury issues that have hampered the squad. Guardiola played a weakened team in the Carabao Cup last week at Newcastle because of the fitness situation and after City lost that game a stronger lineup then suffered their first Premier League defeat of the season at Wolves.
