Manchester City are in Champions League action on Tuesday night when they face Villarreal.

The Blues have taken four points from two matches in Europe so far but have not won on the road in Europe in more than a year. They will hope to end that run in Spain against a side still searching for their first victory in the competition this season.

Pep Guardiola will be without injured pair Rodri and Abdukodir Khusanov through injury but is able to call on the rest of his squad.

Rayan Ait-Nouri could make his return to action having returned to training while Guardiola might shuffle his pack amid a testing run of fixtures.

Rayan Ait-Nouri could make his Manchester City return against Villarreal after being included in the 22-man travelling squad for the Champions League fixture.

The £31millon summer signing hasn't played for City since August 31 after picking up an ankle injury but he returned to full training last week and has come through recent sessions without any problems.

Ait-Nouri didn't make the bench for Saturday's 2-0 win against Everton but the Algerian is included in the travelling squad for the game at the Estadio de la Ceramica and looks set to make the bench at least.
