Pep Guardiola issues Jack Grealish challenge after Man City change

Pep Guardiola has challenged Jack Grealish to show what he can do on the pitch after seeing an improvement from the player in training.

Grealish was an integral part of the Manchester City side that won the Treble last year but has had a more scratchy campaign this year. There have been highs - such as scoring in three consecutive Premier League games for the first time in his career - but also spells out of the team and Guardiola has made it clear he wants more from him.

The £100m signing started an important Champions League game in Copenhagen this month after more than four weeks out of the starting XI, only to suffer a groin injury that forced him off after 20 minutes. Guardiola questioned his attempt to play on and his fitness to be suffering a muscle injury so soon, but Grealish has recovered from injury ahead of schedule and is in line to make his return against Luton on Tuesday in the FA Cup.

Guardiola is not taking Luton lightly as his side continue in their defence of the three trophies they won last season, so any minutes Grealish does get will be to help the team rather than to ease himself back in.
