Pep Guardiola had a funny way of 'congratulating' Crystal Palace's Vicente Guaita at full-time
Manchester City have opened the door for Liverpool in the Premier League title race after a 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace.
Pep Guardiola’s side did everything they could at Selhurst Park on Monday night but just couldn’t find that all-important goal.
City had 74% possession and 18 shots but found 35-year-old Palace goalkeeper, Vicente Guaita, in fantastic form.
Guaita only made four saves in the match but was an extremely busy man throughout the 90 minutes. But he, and the entire Palace line-up, stayed strong to earn themselves a credible point.
It was a point that leaves them in 11th in the Premier League table as they target a top-half finish.
As for City, the draw moved them four points clear of Liverpool but Jurgen Klopp’s side now have a game in hand – a trip to Arsenal on Wednesday night.
After the match, Guardiola was clearly disappointed with the result and headed straight towards Guaita. He was seen in what appeared to be an animated conversation with the ‘keeper.
