Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp played down the Manchester City manager's bust-up with Darwin Nunez at the end of the 1-1 draw between the Blues and Liverpool at the Etihad.

The match had been lacking any of the major flashpoints that have become a theme of this rivalry in recent years, until Nunez and Guardiola got involved in an angry exchange on the touchline after the game.

Guardiola had shaken hands with Klopp after the final whistle had sounded and then turned around and got into a heated discussion with Nunez, who had been taken off during the game and was walking across to the City technical area. Klopp then pulled his own player away but Nunez continued to shout in Guardiola's direction, with the Catalan responding.
