Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp's disagreement as Man United eye third transfer
Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola have expressed contrasting opinions on Christopher Nkunku, who could become Manchester United's third signing this month.
The Red Devils have put their foot on the gas in the final few days of the January transfer window as they inch closer to signing Lecce left back Patrick Dorgu and Arsenal's defensive starlet Ayden Heaven.
Should United clinch those two signings before next Monday's deadline, a deal for Nkunku could mean three arrivals within a matter of days for Ruben Amorim. The French international signed for Chelsea in 2023 for an impressive £52million following a successful four-year spell with Bundesliga team RB Leipzig.
However, his tenure at Stamford Bridge has been less than ideal, with injuries hampering his debut season and a failure to secure a regular spot in Enzo Maresca's starting line-up this term.
The 27-year-old has remained on the bench in three of Chelsea's last four Premier League matches, fuelling rumours that he may be leaving the club, reports the Mirror.
Sky Germany reports that a swap deal between Chelsea and United could be in the works, which would see Nkunku join the Red Devils and Alejandro Garnacho head in the opposite direction.
According to MEN Sport, the 20-year-old's sale is not being forced as well as the player himself not pushing to depart the club. However, the pure profit Garnacho's potential sale would provide will help United in their cause to comply with Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).
However, discussions about a direct swap have lost momentum with only a few days remaining in the January transfer window, which closes on Monday night.
Adding to the complexity, Nkunku is now reportedly attracting interest from Bayern Munich due to the
