Pele vs Cristiano Ronaldo goals: Jamie Carragher labels Brazilian legend a ‘bit of a myth’

Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville have quickly established themselves as one of the best punditry duos around.

The pair share a tangible chemistry when in front of the camera and have given football fans many a laugh down the years.

However, while their banter and back and forth is a big part of their brand, it is their astute analysis and supreme footballing IQs that keep fans coming back.

There aren’t many better readers of the game than Neville and Carragher and, when dove-tailing together, they have the ability to perfectly sum up a match or a situation.

So then it is no surprise that fans sit up and listen when one of the pair starts talking but some of Carragher’s latest comments may just divide opinion.

The ongoing narrative surrounding Brazilian legend Pele has snowballed into somewhat of a meme factory in the last few years, especially now with Cristiano Ronaldo breaking goalscoring records for fun.

As the topic of Pele came up, Neville threw the proverbial hospital pass to Carragher, reminding him that he has a theory on the whole matter.
