Pedro Neto sends Morgan Gibbs-White message amid Wolves transfer interest
Pedro Neto is hoping to build on his partnership with Morgan Gibbs-White after the Wolverhampton Wanderers pair starred in the 4-0 demolition of Alaves on Wednesday night.
They were fielded alongside Raul Jimenez in a front three against Alaves as Wolves kickstarted their pre-season tour of Alicante with a win. Gibbs-White teed Neto up to score Wolves’ second goal of the night and the duo combined wonderfully throughout.
Bruno Lage plans to field Neto and Gibbs-White together in the Premier League next season, despite lots of transfer speculation over the future of the latter. Gibbs-White’s superb loan spell at Sheffield United last season has attracted widespread interest.
Nottingham Forest and Everton are keen to sign Gibbs-White, who has two years remaining on his contract at Molineux. Gibbs-White hasn’t yet accepted the offer of a new contract at Wolves, which has given his suitors hope that a deal can be struck this summer.
But Lage - and the entire Wolves squad - want Gibbs-White to stay and form part of their attacking arsenal. Portuguese winger Neto said: “Since the day that I arrived Morgan was a player that I enjoyed playing with in training. We speak to each other about that.
“I remember one training session that we had, our team did a fantastic job. We were playing with young players - me, him, Vitinha - and we did a fantastic training session and were joking with the older guys.
“Morgan is a player that is easy to play with because he likes to combine, he likes to come inside, he likes to play with the team, and he comes here to improve the team.”
