Paul Pogba told to sign Arsenal contract as Man United return decision made

Bacary Sagna believes former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba would be a good for addition for Arsenal amid links over a sensational return to Old Trafford.

The 31-year-old terminated his contract with Juventus last week and hasn't played a competitive minute of first-team football since August 2023 after being banned for four years following a failed doping test. However, following an appeal, the ban was reduced to 18 months with Pogba available to resume training in January ahead of a return in March.

Pogba arrived at the United academy ranks in 2009, making just seven appearances, before leaving for Juventus in 2012 on a free transfer. His performances in Turin earned him a lucrative move back to Old Trafford for a then-world record £89million.

He subsequently returned to Juventus at the end of his second spell with United but as he now looks for a new club, there was a suggestion that he would return for a third time.

However, according to the Mirror, a return to the Theatre of Dreams is not on the cards as he trains in Miami, Florida and eyes a move to a club in one of Europe's top five leagues. Arsenal have been touted while Saudi Arabia has also been suggested.

Sagna told Megadice: "I’ve always said that Paul Pogba would be a good addition for Arsenal. I believe he could be an asset to the club. With his creativity, having him on a short-term contract would benefit everyone.

"It would help Paul get back into football and get him back to full fitness and quality."
