Paul Pogba speaks out on 'nightmare' Jose Mourinho relationship after Man United fallout

Paul Pogba has described his tumultuous relationship with former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho to that of 'a boyfriend and girlfriend'.

The current Fenerbahce gaffer was at the helm when United splashed out £89million to bring Pogba back from Juventus in the summer of 2016. Despite a series of ups and downs between them, Pogba, whose suspension from football was recently reduced, racked up 108 appearances under Mourinho's stewardship at the Theatre of Dreams.

Struggling to pin down the reasons behind their frosty partnership, Pogba professed his willingness to extend a warm greeting to Mourinho if they were to cross paths again. Speaking to Mail Sport, the 31-year-old midfielder expressed his desire for a heart-to-heart to delve into the details of what happened in their time together.

Pogba said: "Our relationship was like boyfriend and girlfriend, we were breaking up and making up all the time. It started great, he was one of the reasons I went back to Manchester because I spoke to him and he convinced me to come back.

"I don't know why it turned into a nightmare and us fighting. Because I wasn't fighting. I didn't start the fight. We disagreed like managers and players do sometimes. But there's a lot of respect from me to him. If I see him tomorrow it's a big hug! But one day we will have to sit down together and discuss it."
