Paul Pogba has had his place in the Manchester United side questioned, with suggestions that the midfielder is playing for a move in the summer.

Pogba made his return to the squad for the FA Cup defeat to Middlesbrough, having been out since November after picking up a thigh injury while out on international duty with France.

And the 28-year-old made an instant impact in his first league game back on Tuesday after scoring in the 1-1 draw at Burnley, although he did receive some criticism for his performance at Turf Moor.

Pogba’s return to fitness poses a dilemma for United fans, with the midfielder looking likely to leave Old Trafford for a second time this summer.

The Frenchman’s contract expires at the end of the season, and interim manager Ralf Rangnick has indicated he won’t stand in his way should he want to pursue a move elsewhere.

For the time being, the German seems happy to bring Pogba back into the fold, although former West Ham and Celtic striker Frank McAvennie has been left baffled by the decision.
