Paul McCartney fans serenade star as he's seen leaving luxury Manchester hotel

This weekend saw Beatles' legend Sir Paul McCartney back on home turf in the North West as he took to the stage at Manchester's Co-op Live.

The musician has been on the road since October as part of his ongoing Got Back tour across the world, including dates in South America and Europe. And this weekend he capped off a busy 2024 with two shows at the city's newest arena.

And while 23,500 excited fans packed into Co-op Live on both Saturday and Sunday night, some were treated to an early glimpse of the star as he left his hotel too. A number of videos circulated online show the music legend leaving the Stock Exchange Hotel in Manchester on both Saturday and Sunday night.

In one clip, the star, wrapped up in a in checked flannel shirt and blue scarf can be seen coming out of the hotel and waving enthusiastically to fans who had waited patiently outside in the cold.

Carrying a guitar case in one hand, he then placed it in the boot before wrapping his arms around himself and asking fans if they're warm enough. As well as interacting with people across the road, he shook people's hands before being waved off.

In a second clip, wearing a blazer jacket and throwing a scarf over his shoulder, he shouted 'enjoy the show' to fans before clapping along with some of them. Then, pausing before getting into his car, he watched on as those lined up outside serenaded him with the Beatles' classic, Hey Jude.
