Paul Joyce reveals early Liverpool team news v Arsenal, supporters will be elated - opinion

Liverpool’s Premier League clash with in-form Arsenal today could be crucial in the Reds’ search for their second Premier League title, after Manchester City drew with Crystal Palace on Monday night.

Star man Mohamed Salah was withdrawn from proceedings against Brighton on Saturday just four minutes after scoring the team’s second goal, on the way to securing a 2-0 victory away from home.

The injury was trivial and Klopp said he was “not concerned” after the game, and during the pre-match conference for today’s match, he confirmed that Salah is back in training already.

The news was first revealed by Liverpool journalist Paul Joyce who took to Twitter yesterday to relay: “Jurgen Klopp says Mo Salah should be fit for the Arsenal game. ‘He’s ready to train.'”

In full, the German manager said: “Looks like [it]. Mo is a tough cookie and he was only a little bit cut, we were quite lucky with it.

“It was swollen, painful, yesterday a little less swollen, less painful.

“Now I got the message before the press conference that Mo is ready to train and we will see how that looks.”

Despite speculation surrounding his contract which at the moment is due to run-out at the end of next season, Salah has maintained his excellent form throughout this season, having scored 20 Premier League goals in 26 appearances, as well as setting up a further ten.
