Paul Conroy yet to decide on Galway future

Paul Conroy has admitted he is yet to decide on his future with Galway following their All-Ireland final loss to Armagh.

Conroy was one of Galway's standout players as Galway won a Connacht championship and reached the All-Ireland final.

However, it was to be heartbreak for Galway and Conroy for the second time in three years, as Armagh ran out narrow winners in Croke Park.

At the age of 35, Conroy knows days like this may not come by again, but says it is too soon after the final to make a decision on his future.

“I haven't made any decision yet. It is still very raw, the last couple of weeks.

"I don't think it would be the right time to decide anything in terms of going forward. I'm going to make the decision over the next while, I haven't decided yet.

“We will see, I really enjoyed, apart from the last game, I really enjoyed everything about 2024. I was happy enough with my performances and stuff, so I will think about it, and sit on it for a few weeks.”

The Galway midfielder was one of the driving forces behind Galway's road to the final, and has showed age is just a number with his displays this year.

However, should he make the decision to continue with the tribesmen, he wants to ensure he is mentally prepared for the future.

"Physically, I feel good and fit and looking forward to getting back into the club season again," he said.

"I think it's the energy, mentally that you have to ask yourself in a couple of weeks time, when the lads are going back to pre-season do we have the drive there to go again?

"Simple as that. Sometimes, I can imagine players going back for themselves and they don’t have the energy to go back, there’s nothing left in the tank. So, you need to make sure that if you are going back that the
