Patton Kizzire moves into lead after birdie blitz at Procore Championship

Patton Kizzire fired six birdies in his last nine holes to take the halfway lead at the Procore Championship.

Kizzire finished with two birdies for a second round 65 to move to 13-under-par at the Silverado Spring north course in Napa, California.

The 38-year-old, who started the day in a tie for second, opened with a birdie before a run of pars until he began his back nine with three birdies to start his surge to the top.

He is one stroke clear of overnight leader David Lipsky, who mixed an eagle, eight birdies and three bogeys in his first 16 holes - a double bogey on his 17th costing him top spot as he signed for a 67.

Fellow American Patrick Fishburn is a short further back in third after a 65 with JJ Spaun and Matt Kuchar, who equalled the best round of the day with a 64, a shot further back.
