Patrick Dorgu has made Chido Obi feelings clear as Manchester United wonderkid gets call up
Patrick Dorgu already underlined his confidence in Manchester United starlet Chido Obi before the clash against Tottenham Hotspur.
Ruben Amorim was forced into naming several United Academy stars on the subs bench for the Premier League clash against Spurs due to injuries. Obi was among a host of Under-21 and Under-18s players in the group for that trip to north London on Sunday afternoon.
United trailed early on in the game after an opening goal from the returning James Maddison for Tottenham. Amorim's side went into the contest in 14th place in the Premier League table after Everton's win over Crystal Palace on Saturday evening.
Obi was signed by United this summer from Arsenal - and he has been flourishing with the club's Under-18s. The 17-year-old striker recently scored a hat-trick in a 5-2 win over Chelsea in the FA Youth Cup, days before being named in Amorim's squad for the trip to the capital.
The United starlet posted a message on Instagram after that win, where he expressed his delight at scoring a hat-trick for the Reds. "Proud of this team, next round. Hatty," wrote Obi.
Dorgu, who was only signed by United from Lecce during the January transfer window, quickly posted a comment on Obi's post. The new United defender posted two 'fire' emojis in his comment - showing his appreciation for Obi's performance for the Under-18s.
Obi was not the only Academy starlet named on the United bench by Amorim to face Spurs. Indeed, the forward was joined by ex-Arsenal teammate Ayden Heaven, Harry Amass, Sekou Kone, Elyh Harrison, Tyler Fredricson, Jack Fletcher and Jack Moorhouse.
