Part of M60 closed following crash between car and motorbike

Part of the M60 is closed following a crash between a motorbike and a car. There's three mile queues and 45 minute delays on the clockwise motorway following the crash between Middleton and Chadderton.

National Highways North West posted on X, formerly Twitter: "Lane 1 (of 3) is closed on the M60 clockwise between J20 Middleton and J21 Chadderton, Oldham due to a collision and fuel spillage. Traffic officers and emergency services are on scene.

" There are three miles of congestion causing 45 min delays above normal journey time."

The Inrix traffic reporting service said: "Two lanes closed and queueing traffic due to accident, car and motorcycle involved on M60 clockwise from J20 A664 Manchester New Road (Higher Blackley) to J21 A6104 (Hollinwood)."

I've just had a chat with Jeanette Kiely, organiser of today's Red of Ring ride, where around 1,000 bikers rode around the M60 to mark Remembrance Sunday.

She says the injured biker was not taking part in the ride, but riders who were witnessed the crash between the motorcycle and a white car.

It's thought the biker has badly injured his leg.
