Parklife 2024 LIVE: Tens of thousands head to Heaton Park for first day of Manchester's biggest festival

Thousands of music fans are heading into Heaton Park this morning as Parklife 2024 finally gets underway.

Festival-goers are preparing for two epic days of live music, showstopping performances and good vibes as the likes of Becky Hill, Sugababes, Disclosure, Peggy Gou and Sub Focus prepare to take to the stage later today.

The two-day event, which is the biggest metropolitan event in the UK, will today (June 8) also feature sets from some of the biggest international and homegrown talent - from Nia Archives and Four Tet, to Camelphat, Wilkinson and Skream.

Up to 80,000 people are expected to attend the festival today alone. Alongside music, there will be a new dedicated food area in the centre of the park, a pop-up McDonald’s giving out free fries and plenty of bars - including the festival’s first ever alcohol free bar.

There will also be a fashion store and free make-up touch-ups from SHEIN, alongside a pop-up festival stage with exclusive DJ sets from Radio 1 DJs Arielle Free and Danny Howard.

The stages will begin to host acts from 12pm, with sets running throughout the day until the headliner performers finish up by 11pm.
