Paris to host unveiling of Dakar Saudi Arabia 2027 route
JEDDAH: The route for the Dakar Rally 2027 in Saudi Arabia will be unveiled at an official press conference in Paris, organizers announced on Sunday, as the Kingdom prepares to host the event for an eighth consecutive year.
Saudi Motorsport Company, promoter of the rally, said the conference will bring together international media and key stakeholders to reveal details of the new course, including its stages and overall design.
The event will be attended by Prince Khalid bin Sultan Al-Abdullah Al-Faisal, chairman of the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation and SMC; SMC CEO Mansour bin Ali Al-Mokbel; Amaury Sport Organisation CEO Yann Le Moenner; and Dakar Rally Director David Castera.
Organizers said the 2027 route will highlight the continued evolution of the rally in Saudi Arabia, building on previous editions while showcasing new terrain and experiences.
Saudi Arabia has hosted the Dakar Rally since 2020, with the event becoming a key fixture on the global motorsport calendar.
Officials say its continued presence reflects the Kingdom’s growing reputation as a destination for major international sporting events, supported by expanding infrastructure and organizational expertise.
The announcement follows the success of the 2026 edition, won by Qatar’s Nasser Al-Attiyah after a highly competitive race.
