Paris 2024 Olympic Games torch relay journey revealed, with flame to arrive in Marseille in May

The Olympic flame will arrive in Marseille on May 8 before a torch relay takes it around the country on its way to Paris ahead of the start of the 2024 Olympic Games in July. As is tradition, the torch will be lit at the birthplace of the ancient Games in Olympia, Greece, before taking a nine-day tour of the country which ends at the Panathenaic Stadium in Athens.

From here, the torch will return to the water on June 7 for a relay of France’s overseas territories including Polynesia, Guyana and Guadeloupe. After returning to the mainland in Nice on June 18, the flame will continue its journey through some 400 cities and towns with Strasbourg, Reims and Lille among those to be visited on this section of the relay.
