Paris 2024: Irish in action on Day 3 of Paralympics

After Róisín Ní Ríain secured a first medal of the 2024 Paralympic Games for Team Ireland on Friday, here's what Day 3 has in store for Team Ireland.

Shauna Bocquet will compete in the T54 5000m final at 9.36am after she finished fourth in her heat on Friday.

The Galway wheelchair racer looked comfortable throughout among elite company and clocked a time of 12:44.52.

She will be joined in the final by world record-holder Susannah Scaroni of the United States and Tokyo silver medallist Manuela Schar of Switzerland.

Greta Streimikyte will compete in the T13 1500m final in the hope of picking up a first Paralympics medal in what is her third Games.

The 28-year-old, who won gold at the 2021 European Championships, takes to the track at 6.10pm.

Para cyclist Richael Timothy will look to follow up a personal best showing in the C1-3 3000m women's individual pursuit on Thursday when she takes part in the C1-3 500m time trial at 9am.

While that PB of 4:05.247 wasn't enough to progress in the 3000m, Timothy will now be aiming for a place in the final of the C1-3 500m time trial, which takes place at 12.35pm.

Similarly, Ronan Grimes recorded a PB on Friday in the C4-5 1000m time trial at the Paralympics but missed out on a spot in the medal race-off.

The Galway man will have another opportunity to take a home a medal when he takes part in the C4-5 4000m time trial at 10.02am, with the potential for an appearance in the final at 2.01pm.

Rowing duo Katie O'Brien and Tiernán O'Donnell will compete in the PR2 mixed double sculls repechage after they came fourth in their heat in Vaires-sur-Marnes on Friday.

The Irish crew required a top-two finish in their heat to qualify automatically for Sunday's final, but will have a second bite of the cherry
