Paramount Plus UK release date, price and what TV shows and movies you can watch

Paramount+ has just launched in the UK and it brings together TV shows and movie franchises, as well as documentaries from parent companies Paramount Pictures and Viacom CBS.

It is the latest streaming service to take on established rivals such as Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Disney Plus and Apple TV Plus. Paramount Plus subscribers will unlock exclusive films and TV shows including Mean Girls, Castaway and The Talented Mr Ripley.

It will also exclusively stream Paramount movies 45 days after their cinema release, this will include the likes of Top Gun: Maverick, Mission: Impossible 7, with more more can be expected to be on the list. Subscribers will also get the luxury of watching on three different devices at the same time, which is perfect for households with different tastes. Paramount Plus UK is now available to access on TVs, mobiles and desktop browsers through the Paramount Plus app. The service will also become available on Sky platforms for viewers in the UK, Ireland, Germany and Austria later in the year. On top of this Sky Cinema subscribers will be able to access Paramount Plus at no additional cost.

The streaming service offers two options. You’ll be able to purchase the service for £6.99 per month or £69.90 for the year. There is also a seven day trial available. It’s important to set yourself a reminder because once the seven day free trial ends you will be charged for a one-month subscription, unless you cancel in time.

Strange New Worlds is a new drama series that is both a sequel and prequel to Star Trek. It takes place six months after the
