Paddy Pimblett next fight: Liverpool UFC star seeks opponent for targeted date

Paddy Pimblett is aiming to fight again before the end of the year after he forced a submission by choking out Jordan Leavitt at UFC London in July.

The Liverpool star has not fought since his round two submission victory over Dana White‘s Contender Series alum Leavitt four months ago.

Pimblett has previously kept things pretty hush-hush about when his next fight could take place.

The triumphant Scouser recently arrived back in the UK after a long trip stateside to America during his time away from the Octagon where he decided to take on a group of US Marines in training.

But the Brit is optimistic that he could be back fighting as early as December if he manages to find an opponent in time.

He made those comments while working as a commentator during the live broadcast of Cage Warriors 144 at the Nuova Fiera in Rome on Friday.

“I’m planning on fighting December 10 at UFC 282,” he said in quotes reported by MMA Junkie. “I’m planning on fighting on that December 10 [event].

“I’m just waiting for an opponent, lad. I’m just waiting for an opponent to step up and sign the dotted line. Everyone talks about ‘The Baddy.’

“Everyone talks about fighting me. When the contract is in front of them, they’re not as confident.”

With Pimblett confirming he will fight again in 2022, the big question is who he’ll be standing across the cage from.

Bobby Green, Jared Gordon and Terrance McKinney have all been mentioned as potential opponents.

Featherweight star Ilia Topuria has also thrown his hat in the cage after branding Pimblett a “d*** sucker” in Spanish.
