Packers have not seen video in Josh Jacobs case, GM says - ESPN

GREEN BAY, Wis. — The Green Bay Packers have not seen the video evidence in the Josh Jacobs criminal case, according to general manager Brian Gutekunst.

Prosecutors referenced the video in a criminal complaint as part of charges filed last week against Jacobs, who has since been placed on the commissioner exempt list.

Jacobs was formally charged by the Brown County District Attorney with misdemeanor battery and misdemeanor criminal damage to property last Thursday. The charges stemmed from an alleged incident May 23 with a woman at Jacobs' home in the Green Bay area.

The criminal complaint states that the woman was trying to exit Jacobs' garage when he «grabbed her and threw her to the ground and she struck her head, suffering an injury.» According to the complaint, there is surveillance footage from the camera system that «corroborates the relevant portions of [the woman's] statement that one would expect to have seen on video,» although it noted that the video is only from the garage and not from inside the house.

«We have not seen the video,» Gutekunst said Tuesday. «Again, those are legal things going on right now, so we'll let those play out. That's really not for us, but in the appropriate times, if those things become available, we'll figure that stuff out when that time comes.»

When asked whether he needs to see the video before deciding on Jacobs' future with the team, Gutekunst said: «Again, we're going to lean on the legal process and let that happen, but we'll take things as they come.»

The Brown County District Attorney has not responded to an ESPN message asking if the video will be released.
