'Outstanding' gem set to be unleashed at Molineux next season; he's 'perfect' for Wolves

Morgan Gibbs-White has shown enough quality for Sheffield United to suggest he will be starting for Wolves next season, according to Midlands journalist Josh Holland.

The 22-year-old joined the Blades on loan last summer, with Bruno Lage unable to offer him guarantees regarding regular playing time for Wanderers.

Gibbs-White has enjoyed a fantastic season for United, scoring ten goals and registering seven assists in the Championship, proving to be a key player in their promotion charge.

The midfielder is expected to return to Wolves at the end of the season, at which point he will hope to kick on under Lage.

Speaking to Give Me Sport, Holland claimed that Gibbs-White will be a key starter for Wanderers from next season onwards:

“I think if you look at Morgan Gibbs-White from last April to this April, when he comes back to Wolves in the summer, I think he’ll be starting for Wolves next season.

“I think there has been times when Morgan Gibbs-White would have been perfect for Wolves this season.”

Gibbs-White is a player who has immense potential – he has been hailed as ‘outstanding’ by Barnsley head coach Poya Asbaghi – and it is time for him to be trusted in a Wolves shirt.

He has shown that he can excel in a difficult league in 2021/22, and with midfield pair Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho both possibly leaving the club, vacancies should appear in the middle of the park.

Showing faith in homegrown young players is so important, particularly when they possess Gibbs-White’s natural ability, so it would be heartwarming to see him trusted from next season onwards.

In other news, Wolves are reportedly keen on signing a Premier League attacker. Find out who it is here.
