Out of sorts Maguire misses cut at Founders Cup
An uncharacteristic second-round 76 left Leona Maguire on the wrong side of the cut mark at the Founders Cup on the LPGA Tour - but Stephanie Meadow's solid 72 looks set to see her through to the weekend.
Maguire had got off to a fine start with an opening 69 on Thursday, but her four-over-par Friday effort dropped her to one-over overall, two shots outside the projected cut.
A three-over 39 on her back nine on the testing New Jeersey layout was to blame, as the Cavan golfer had three bogeys in her final six holes.
Meadow, on the other hand, was steadniness personified, carding two birdies, two bogeys and 14 pars to end the day where she started - on one-under-par overall.
Minjee Lee has a three-shot lead at the top of the leadeboard from Ally Ewing, Lexi Thompson and Madelene Sagstrom.
