'Out of order' - Unhappy Coventry City boss takes aim at rival after transfer talk

Coventry City boss Mark Robins has addressed speculation around Callum O'Hare's future at the club amid transfer links to Burnley.

O'Hare continues to be the subject of interest from the relegated side. However, the Clarets have already had bids knocked back for the 24-year-old.

The Sky Blues star is contracted for another two years, making more than 130 appearances for City since joining them in 2020. New Clarets boss Vincent Company, who previously hailed the 24-year-old as a "great player", believes he "would be great for us" and a strong candidate for his attacking midfield in a 4-2-2-2 system.

Speaking to Coventry Live after City's 2-0 pre-season win at Oxford United, Robins said: "All I'm aware of is that I've seen their [Burnely's] manager make some comments which are totally out of order. I think we do those things behind closed doors, but I've seen those comments and I'm not happy with them.

"But it is what it is. I think everybody knows that Callum's been [subject of] interest, speaking from the last 12 months or so. It's been there all summer really, it hasn't gone away, so we'll see what the next few weeks brings.

"It's distracting only in the sense of if something happened then we've got to do something," Robins said on whether the speculation has been a distraction ahead of the new Championship season. "But, like I say, whatever happens, we'll wait and see - [but] there's ways to go on about things."

On whether a potential replacement for O'Hare had been lined up, Robins added: "I'm not going to speculate on anything really - we've got to wait and see what happens. From my point of view, Callum's part of this team."
