Osimhen to earn N8.7b yearly in Napoli’s new three-year deal

Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, has agreed a new three-year deal with Napoli, which will see the African Footballer of the Year earning N8.7 billion (€10 million) yearly.

According to reports in Italian media, Napoli hastened to conclude negotiations on the new deal to ward off likely suitors. La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calendar, held a meeting with Napoli’s CEO, Aurelio de Laurentiis, on Wednesday night, where the draft agreement was reached, adding that Osimhen is now ready to sign a three-year deal that will extend his deal at the club till the summer of 2026. His current contract with Napoli is expected to end in 2025, meaning that the new agreement extends that deal by one year.

The clause inserted by Napoli ensures that the Italian champions will earn a huge fee from any club ready to take the former U-17 World Cup winner away from the club and also means that

Osimhen will not be held prisoner to any attractive offers that land his way. Italian media outlets say that Napoli have started pampering the striker to make him comfortable in Naples and erase the bad blood created by a tiktok post by one of the club’s social media handlers after Osimhen missed a penalty earlier in the season.

“There was coldness in talks for many weeks and recently, the story changed. Napoli have started to pamper the striker again and that is working in their favour, with the player having been allowed to attend the African Player of the Year award ceremony. The 24-year-old is ready to sign the agreement with Napoli and both parties seem happy,” reports
