Oscars 2022 - date, time, hosts and how to watch in the UK

The 94th Academy Awards is back for 2022. Live from Los Angeles, the Oscars is one of the most prestigious events in the entertainment industry.

Flying the flag for Great Britain this year are actress Olivia Colman and actor Benedict Cumberbatch, who are among a star-studded list of celebrities nominated for an award. Dame Judi Dench and Jessie Buckley have also been nominated for the best supporting actress Oscar for Belfast and The Lost Daughter respectively.

Meanwhile Ciaran Hinds is up for best supporting actor Oscar for Belfast, while actor Andrew Garfield has been nominated for Tick, Tick…Boom! respectively. Ciaran and Dame Judi have both landed nominations for their performances in Sir Kenneth Branagh's autobiographical film Belfast.

This year's Academy Awards will take place on Sunday 17 March at 5pm pacific time. In the UK, that translates to 1am on Monday 18 March.

It will be broadcast live from the Dolby Theatre at the Hollywood & Highland Centre. Last year, however, the ceremony took place at Union Station in downtown Los Angeles.

Scary Movie star Regina Hall, comedian Amy Schumer and actress Wanda Sykes will be presenting this year's ceremony. Meanwhile High School Musical graduate Vanessa Hudgens, fashion designer Brandon Maxwell and presenter Terrence J will host the 90-minute pre-event red carpet show.

There's also a huge line-up of stars set to present awards on the night, too, including Encato and Brooklyn 99 star Stephanie Beatriz, The Batman's Zoe Kravitz and screen icon Jamie Lee Curtis.

DJ Khaled, Jennifer Garner, Tiffany Haddish, Bill Murray, John Travolta and Rami Malek will also be joining them, among others.

In the US, the Academy Awards will be broadcast on ABC. Here in the UK, you can watch
