Orlando Pirates parts ways with co-coach Fadlu Davids
Soweto giants Orlando Pirates have confirmed that co-coach Fadlu Davids will be leaving the club at the end of the month.
Davids joined the club in January 2019 as an assistant to Milutin Sredojevic and took on the co-head coaching role with Mandla Ncikazi, who joined from Golden Arrows after Josef Zinnbauer's departure.
In Davids's time there, Pirates managed to break their trophy duck in winning the 2021 MTN8, but struggled in the league where they finished third in the 2020/21 season.
Despite reaching the CAF Confederations Cup final where they lost to RS Berkane, Pirates fared worse in the league, finishing sixth despite having three games in hand after completing their league later than all teams.
The club paid tribute to Davids and his exemplary work ethic.
"Ever professional and always disciplined in his approach, Mr Davids leaves the Club having performed his duties in an exemplary manner," a statement said.
