Organisers list over 250 players for LASUSTECH VC Tennis Cup

Over 250 tennis players will vie for various prizes at the 2024 Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) Vice Chancellor’s Cup, which is billed to hold on December 6 and 7, at the tennis section of the school’s sports centre, in Ikorodu, Lagos.

The two-day tournament, a baby of LASUSTECH Tennis Club, is hosted by the club to thrill tennis lovers, enthusiasts and club members as they celebrate its end-of-year party.

LASUSTECH Tennis Club Captain, Mr. Gafar Tayo Oyewopo, said: “This is our flagship event, which we elaborately celebrate yearly. This year’s edition will not be different.

“This year, we are hosting three other clubs in the inter-club competition. The FAAN Tennis Club, the Police College Tennis Club, and Sky Tennis Club, all in Ikeja, as well as the LASUSTECH Tennis Club. They will be competing for various prizes, including medals, plaques, and other prizes.” He added that this year’s occasion is not open to all as only invited clubs and the hosts will be allowed into the venue of the event.

“From the three clubs that we have invited, we are expecting no less than 30 members each – that’s about 90 people and from our end, we cannot have less than 160 people, which makes it 250 people or more that we are expecting for the event,” he noted.
