Opinion: Predicting Celtic's starting line-up to play Raith Rovers

After a busy schedule of league games, Celtic are next in action in the last 16 of the Scottish Cup, as the Hoops take on Championship side Raith Rovers at Celtic Park on Sunday.

The Hoops will be looking to continue the team’s current good run of form, even though when it comes to priorities, the Scottish Cup is not as important as the Premiership.

 However, there is a reason that Celtic have won the Scottish Cup more than any other side, and that is because the team, no matter who the manager is, have taken the tournament very seriously.

With already one trophy won this season, Ange Postecoglou has shown that he is capable of achieving cup success in Scotland.

With some big games in Europe and in the Premiership on the horizon, the Hoops boss might well make some changes from his usual line-up.

That could mean in goals, where Scott Bain could make a rare start in place of Joe Hart. There could also be changes in the full-back area.

Liam Scales might well come in, whilst with Josip Juranovic still recovering from illness, Anthony Ralston seems certain to keep his place at right-back.

It seems certain that there will be changes at the centre-back area, where Stephen Welsh may well start for the Hoops, alongside Cameron Carter-Vickers, with Carl Starfelt given a rest on this occasion.

In the middle of the park, Yosuke Ideguchi is fit, so he is likely to make his first start for the Bhoys since suffering an injury in the last round of the Scottish Cup against Alloa.

Nir Bitton seems likely to start, with Tom Rogic back in the team, after he missed out in the win over Aberdeen. The in-form Australian will be tasked with helping the Hoops create chances in the game, something which he is more than capable of doing.
