Opinion: Kyogo insight into Celtic manager's methods is compelling
There is still a lot that Celtic fans don’t really know about Hoops boss Ange Postecoglou.
The fans don’t really see the Hoops boss on the training ground, aside from a few clips that have been released on Celtic’s YouTube or Twitter channels.
However, some more information about the Celtic boss has been revealed by Kyogo in a recent interview.
The Hoops striker has discussed the respect he has for the Hoops manager, and the methods that he uses at the club.
“He’s a top-class coach and all the players here are benefiting from his ideas. Of course, there are times when he’s strict, but he’s also very complimentary when you do well. I think he strikes a good balance in that sense. I’ve got real respect for him” he said, as quoted by Tokyo Weekender.
That is a real insight into the methods used by Postecoglou, and it is thanks to Kyogo, a player who has really benefited from them. Indeed, so good did Kyogo perform in his first season at Celtic that he ended up as top scorer for the Bhoys even though he missed around four months of the season with injury.
It is interesting that Postecoglou is both strict and complimentary, that seems to be a bit of a throwback to the old days of management. But whatever the Celtic boss is doing it seems to be working, as he achieved a Premiership title win in his first season in Glasgow.
Postecoglou’s methods seem to work practically everywhere he has managed, as he had success in both Australia and Japan before joining the Hoops, so don’t expect him to change his ideas going forward, after all, they have worked so far in his time in Glasgow.
