Opinion: Celtic fans seem set for televisual disappointment next season

After last season, when some of Celtic’s most important away games weren’t shown live on Sky Sports, the hope would be that the situation would change in season 2022/23, and Celtic’s away games would once more be shown on Sky, but already there is going to be a Hoops away game not shown on television.

Sky Sports have announced the live fixtures for the first six weeks of next season, and Celtic’s first away game, the trip to Ross County, is not going to be shown live, with the Edinburgh derby being shown instead.

Celtic’s next two away games, against Kilmarnock and Dundee United, are going to be shown live, but it is unfortunate that the Hoops’ first away trip of season 2022/23 will not be live on television.

It looks as if Celtic fans, for the second season in a row, will have to get used to some important away games not being shown by Sky Sports, and the only Celtic fans that will get to see the match live will be the away support in attendance.

One wonders if when the next set of live fixtures is announced if
