Opinion: 25-year-old makes good start in attempt to become Celtic regular
Celtic’s first game in the club’s pre-season tour of Austria saw the Hoops defeat Wiener Viktoria 7-0, in what was a comfortable win for the Bhoys.
What was interesting about the team selection is that Ange Postecolou made a host of changes to his starting line-up at half-time, with only three players completing the 90 minutes.
One of those players was Yosuke Ideguchi, who is really just trying to get his Celtic career kickstarted after the injury that he suffered in his only competitive start for the Hoops against Alloa back in January.
The 25-year-old was even made captain for the Hoops in the game in Austria, which in a way shows how much faith that Ange Postecoglou has for the player, who he brought to the club in January.
Even though the likes of Callum McGregor didn’t feature in the game, the Celtic boss should once again pick Ideguchi in the starting line-up in the Hoops’ next friendly against Rapid Vienna.
