Opening date for New York-inspired Manchester restaurant where photos are banned

The team behind popular eateries Tattu and Fenix have announced the opening date of their brand new dining concept.

Louis, a restaurant described as a 'love letter to the Italian-American restaurants of New York', will open its doors in Spinningfields this September. An official launch date of Friday, 13 September has been revealed.

It follows the launch of Permanently Unique's jaw-dropping new Greek restaurant, Fenix, which sits at the edge of Spinningfields in the area around the old Granada Studios. The glamorous dining spot opened its doors last November and has already been shortlisted in the National Restaurant Awards.

Owners say their new spot, Louis, takes inspiration from New York restaurants portrayed on the silver screen, and will feature 'excellent' cooking and 'perfectly-mixed' cocktails set to a backdrop of nightly musical performances.

In a bold move - and one that runs in contrast to social media's food sharing culture - the restaurant will also encourage a 'no-photos environment'. Owners say the privacy and enjoyment of their guests, and 'curating an intimate atmosphere', will be their primary focus with the new opening.

Meanwhile, guests dining at the venue will be served a menu developed and overseen by Executive Chef Ippokratis Anagnostelis from Fenix, and and Italian Chef Matteo D’Elia who has worked at a number of prestigious restaurants.
